Question:

TV troubles?

I have a Sylvannia TV, probably about 6 or 7 years old, not sure what model, that has been working fine up until the other night. All of a sudden, it wasn't receiving signal from the remote. Like any non-idiot would do, I changed the batteries in the remote, but it still wasn't working right. I also have another remote, a universal one, that I use for that TV also, tried that one and same problem. Every so often it'll work again, but then shortly go back to nothing. Any ideas?

  1. The IR reciever built into your TV set has lost a solder connection on it....

That's why it works sometimes and other times it doesn't.

  2. Like the other guy said--got any beanie babies sitting in front of the tv (seen this many many times).  Use the remote right next to the tv and move it around the outer edges to find the sensor and make sure it's not partially covered.

  3. it might be the receiver on the TV. it may be coverd in dust or something
