TV turns on, but picture is red/black

Question

I have a Vizio that is two years old, and while watching the TV it got noticeably darker and now almost unviewable. The screen is mainly black with some red, but I can see the picture and menus. It also has a really short refresh rate with some pixels on the screen not visable. I am wondering what the problem might be, and if it is worth fixing.
