TV wont turn on. Hi

Hi Guys,

                The red power indication on my Philips 34pt5793/79R TV just oscillates on and off when the power is turned on at the mains. There is no other symptons and attempting to turn the TV on by the remote does not achieve anything.

Any assistance would be fantastic.
