Hi.

I'm 19 wks 3 days pregnant with twin boys. I'm wanting to know if anyone can find a link with information on twin pregnancy. Or if they know things like "at what week are most twins born?" and "how likely is it to deliver vaginally?"

I had my first boy 4 wks early. So I am afraid of going into early labor with these two little guys. So any information on twin pregnancy would be great.. THANKS!

  1. I dont know a whole lot about twin pregnancies but hopefully these websites will help you.

    Good Luck!

  2. Hello, first congrats!.. I'm a mother of identical twin girls. My twins were scheduled for a c-section at 38 weeks. I was delivered by c-section at 37 weeks. Twin pregnancies are considered full term at 37 weeks. A large portion of twin pregnancies are delivered before that, but many make to a healthy stage. It will also depend on other factors. What type of twins you have is a big factor also because there can be extra reasons to deliver early with certain types of twins.. My twins were monochorionic diamniotic twins and they shared a placenta so with this they could have developed TTS (twin to twin transfusion syndrome)

A vaginal delivery is not impossible, but not that likely or safe. In my case one twin was head down and first but she was smaller and the bigger one was breech and was bigger.. if i had them vaginally the smaller twin would have delivered fine but the bigger twin could have gotten stuck because once one baby goes though the pelvis it does not really stretch to deliver a bigger baby, the second needs to be smaller or the same, and there was a great chance the second would not have turned.. i didnt want a crash c-section and have to be put under and miss the birth of my second child.. i wanted to know that they were born born healthy as can be and to me a c-section was the best option. My dr advised against a vaginal birth.

there are so many websites that offer wonderful information about twin pregnancies and can answer all and more of the questions you will thank of.. just go to google and type in twin pregnancy info.. also if you go to the book store there is a lot of twin books.. i got one that was called what to expect when expecting multiples and i got one more that was good.. but mainly read online..

try not to worry and ask your dr a ton or question and educate yourself!.. good luck and congrats

BTW my twins were born 37 weeks weighing 6lbs 6ozs and 6lbs 10ozs and were completely healthy, we left 36 hours after i was admitted

  3. the median is 36 weeks...vaginal delivery depends on your physical health and health conditions...if you are in good shape and are eating properly you should have no problem delivering naturally..

    good luck and congrats :o)
