I heard you can have them do the bidding for you by fighting for your sale with each other. How do I do this? Because i will choose who will offer me the best price.

Go to the one with the smaller house and tell him you will take it  , if he reduces his price for at least 10 % and let him know , that you will otherwise buy the large house in the same road , as it is being offered for the same price and obviously a larger house has more value then a smaller house , when located in exactly the same area . This will be also understandable for the seller of the smaller house and if he is eager to sell , he will make you a much better offer .
