QPR’s Adel Taarabt has fired a warning jibe at Swansea City, claiming that his side will be looking for a win right from the start of the campaign.
Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 endured a topsy-turvy Premier League term in 2011/12, as they struggled for most of the time but managed to avoid the drop courtesy of their performances in May.
Pitted against eventually champions Manchester City, the Hoops upset the entire Red Devils community after conceding twice in stoppage time to seal the win for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s troops.
Nonetheless, the club are aiming high this time around and have made some key signings as they look to challenge for a mid-table finish.
Ji-Sung Park has already arrived at Loftus Road and looks likely to be named as captain, while former armband holder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adel-Taarabt-c3610 has gotten over his problems and is eager to finally make his mark in England’s top flight.
The Moroccan midfielder was arguably the team’s best player during the Championship days, but a long running transfer saga soured his experience at the top level and he hardly made any appearances for the team.
However, he has showed signs of patching up with the management and has now returned to the first-team fold ahead of the new season.
Speaking to reporters, he addressed his confidence and claimed that the Londoners would fight for three points right from the beginning, targeting a win a Swansea City who are their first opponents.
"I can't wait to get started and it's nice that we start with Swansea as I have a good record against them. I always seem to play well and score goals against them. They must hate playing against me and will probably be sick of the sight of me. They do play
very good football but that just seems to bring the best out of my game.”
"I'm hoping I will be given a chance to play again and it's important we start well. I think I have matured as a player and was happy to sign a new contract. There have been a lot of new faces, with all the signings, and these are some exciting times.”
QPR take on the Welsh giants at home on Saturday, which is the League’s curtain raiser for the new term.
