Taaresh likely to win the TurfTV.co.uk "Fixed Brush" Handicap Hurdle
Taaresh has been awarded with the best odds for the TurfTV.co.uk "Fixed Brush" Handicap Hurdle at Haydock in England on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. The horse, who finished on top of the table, will bag a cash prize of £2,599.
Six quality runners will be seen in action over the 2 mile long race, which is scheduled to start at 3:50 GMT. Following are the names of the entries confirmed: Kealigolane, Quarton, Omaruru, Taaresh, Tom O´tara and Rawaaj.
The bookmakers have shown confidence in the abilities of Taaresh, despite that fact that he has been struggling to perform over the past few months. He is a good runner, but does not seem to be in good rhythm at the moment.
The seven-year-old gelding has participated in four hurdles, winning one of them. Apart from that, he also secured a third place finish once, which suggests that he is fully capable of challenging the front runners.
Kevin Morgan’s trainee has not been in good form though, thus the punters will be reluctant over placing bets on him. He finished sixth in his most recent outing and will need a special effort in order to win the race today.
One of the main reasons behind the bookmakers favouring Taaresh is that he will be partnered by veteran jockey, A. P. McCoy, who has earned 538 victories over hurdles. He is a fantastic rider and one of the best in the business. The most impressive thing
about him is the strike rate he has, despite taking part in so many events.
On the other hand, Kealigolane will also have a decent chance of winning the race today, as he is a good runner. However, his recent form has also been not much impressive, which suggests that he might struggle at Haydock.
The eight-year-old gelding has taken part in eight hurdles, winning just one of them. Apart from his victory, he has also secured a couple of runner up sports, which shows that he has the potential of fighting for top positions.
Barry Murtagh’s trainee will be ridden by Lucy Alexander, who is relatively new to the sport and has not earned too many victories until now.
Quarton and Omaruru will be the other two runners fighting for race victory at Haydock today whereas the rest of the participants will find it hard to finish on top.
