  1. MOLTEN!

    i hate dirty taches. ahah.

  2. For the indoor game, the Pro Touch ball is superior to everything.  Hands down.  It's got just enough softness to allow for decent passes.  It's got the best grip of any ball, so you have absolute control on the degree of topspin (or sidespin) on a jump serve toss.  It's tri-colored, so it makes an official's job easier to recognize illegal hand contact, but the best is when you hit it.  When you smack a Pro Touch, the ball springs off your hand, hits the ground, and springs back up.  It makes for a much better looking kill or six pack  It even sounds better when it hits the ground.

I've only played with the NAIA Tachikara ball a few times when my NCAA team crossed over and played an NAIA team.  I found it to be spongy.  Tachikara balls in general, appeal more to the girls volleyball. It's a little bit less stiff, it's a little softer on the arms if you're digging a hard driving ball or passing a jump serve.  I find the Tachikara harder to palm, where I can wrap my hand around the molten and with a little fingertip pressure, I can palm it.

The old Mikasa used in international competition up through 2007 is a little spongy too, I found it to be a little denser than the Pro Touch.  I used one every day for about two weeks, and got used to it, but I still prefer the Molten Pro Touch.

I'd really like to get my hands on the new  Mikasa used in the 2008 Olympic indoor tournament.  That thing looks funky, I don't think the panels are the standard arrangement.  I'm already hating it, and I haven't even touched it.  I'll get my hands on one eventually.

  3. molten generally stays in better shape

  4. tachikara is definately the best!

trust me, they are some of the nicest volleyballs out there!

    along with mikasa (:

tachikaras are prolly the most popular volleyballs.
