  1. It depends how fast its going, a rate of above 100 bpm would be considered tachycardia but unless it was going really fast, say above 150 at rest and it lasted for a while, say more than half an hour or so don't worry but consult your GP. There are countless things that can cause your heart rate to rise, espec if you're very overweight ( its great you're working on that though).

Don't let what you've read worry you its not just how fast you're heart is going its how the electrical activity is moving tyhrough the heart that can cause sudden death, I won't go into details but if the heart was going very fast, say around 180 0r 200 bpm, for a long period it can cauise the rhythm to become unstable and lead to an arrhythmia called VT which can lead to VF then cardiac arrest which would all could go unnoticed if there is no trained person around or you're sleeping which is how it could result in sudden death, this is unlikely in your case.

So if the rate's above 140 or 150 go to the hospital if its higher than 160 phone an ambulance, if its below 140 see your GP.

Although chestpains can be common in overweight people you still should see your GP next time you get them, espec if accompanied by palps.

As far as the murmur is concerned don't worry, loads of people have murmurs their whole life and never even know, if they said its nothing to worry about I'd say they're right.

The  only other thing I'd say is I'm only going on what you've written so if you're feeling unwell and in doubt just go to the hospital and get checked out, if you don't feel the need for an ambulance get a lift.

    Hope this helps.

  2. consider what could have caused it (mental shock, diet problems, etc.). have someone else take you to the dr for an examination.

  3. Absolutely!

I don't mean to scare you, but you should call that ambulance NOW.

  4. Probably not.

You sound like this happens often, if the dr's diagnosis is just tachycardia then there is nothing to worry about, it it's supra ventricular tachycardia then there may be something to worry about - check with your dr. If it's ventricular tachycardia then yes you need an ambulance.

  5. If you're well enough to take the time to ask the question on here, then no I don't think it is cause enough for ambulance!
