Taco Bell?

Question

So, I just got my first job at taco bell today, and I hate it. It's ashame because I really wanted it, but on my first day, they threw me right into the kitchen and expected me to know what to do. AGGHH! The problem is that I didn't know how to read the computer screen, and I didn't know what to put on the tacos.

Has anyone worked at taco bell? How do you read the screen? And how long will it take to memorize what goes on EACH taco/chilupa/pizza/etc?

Well, they should not expect you to "just know" how to make everything.  You need to be trained.  If they are not training you, they are not doing their job properly.  Ask to speak to a manager and get this resolved.  That is so totally NOT FAIR and totally NOT ACCEPTABLE.

they should teach you. It isn't right they just put you in there and expect you to know everything. Come on and ask them that you need help..

Its a fast food restaurant..what do you expect bro...I heard that you get treated like c**p when you work at fast food restaurants...but hey a job is a job right...tell the manager that you need some help..they should give you a break...

Umm...the managers should teach you these things.  If they do not, they are not doing THEIR job and you should bring that to the attention to the people above them.  They can't just throw you in there and expect you to know what to do.

are'nt they supposed to train you beforehand? the owners/managers were supposed to tell you what to do

just go to tacobell.com and they tell you whats in the food.

It was my first job as well.  It takes at least 2 or 3 weeks to get the menu down, they shouldn't expect you to get it right away.  I worked there for 9 years.

Everyone hates new jobs on their first day...so don't worry!

Ask your boss. They should teach you. It's their job to maintain the restraunt and it's employees. If they don't tell you, you should bring this to the Manager of the whole operation of Taco Bell! Don't be afriad to ask a question!

I've never worked at Taco Bell, but I'm sure there is someone there to train you. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
