Question:

Tactical UAVs for army units?

I am curious as to how far down the organization they are allotted. Do both battalions and brigades have them? Also, why not just issue lower end Predator UAVs to brigades and divisions?

Thank you ~ Jeff

  1. Well the Predator requires a runway to take off.  The Raven, which is the most commonly used by the Army, doesn't. Also due to airspace requirements the Army uses a low flying UAV as opposed to the higher flying Predator.  Predators are just to fancy for what the Army needs on a tactical level.

EDIT: Honestly I don't know exact number numbers.  Prolly around 5 or 6 I would guess.
