Question:

Tadpole from fair?

my kids and I just got back from the fair up the street. ONe of the prices were tadpoles. they are murky green, very large (probably 2 inches), I think they are the same kind that I have seen for sale at Petsmart/Petco. Anyway, I think it is very cruel to sell live animals at the fair. I just think it is a shame that most of those tadpoles will die : ( Anyway, my mother in law took it home with her, as she has a pond in her front yard, with a filter, and 4 goldfish. What kind of tadpole do you think this is and how long before it turns into a frog? I know some tadpoles can take up to 2 years to turn into frogs...

  1. betcha it is a leopard frog tadpole. they tend to be large tadpoles that turn into small froglets. pretty neat, huh?

they like to eat boiled lettuce (ick) as tadpoles. however, i'm unsure of what to feed them when they are froglets. it only takes them a few months (about 45-60 days) to change :)

  2. Sound to me you have a baby bull frog on your hands
