Tae Kwon Do incident?

What do you think of these issues?

1. It was 7 seconds before rest time when the referee stopped the watch for injury. Shouldn't he have been more flexible on that? It was nearly rest time anyway. The Cuban fighter should have got 1min rest time and 1.30min injury time. Don't you agree?

2. When the ref stopped the watch, the Kazk participant talked to the referee. He was indicating the Cuban's injury... Can you talk to the referee? Isn't that a bit suspiscious? Now comes to the point where Matos was saying of referee buy-out?

3. Kicking the ref... That was a bad action from Matos. Can't we understand him more? He was winning 3 - 2 in a bronze medal bout. And then the ref stops the match. Everyone would have been frustrated about that.

4. Why was the Kazk competitor jumping all around. He won the fight. But wasn't he rubbing salt to injury?

5. What do you think of the racist comments on youtube on the clip about the incidents?

6. Do you think that these copyright issues really come in play on youtube? People just keep on posting the clips!! lol!! rofl!!!

  1. im a black belt second degree and i personly find that the tae kwon do is doing really bad and not fun to watch because of the ref's they dicide who they want to win!

  2. I think his coaches are to blame. They have an injury time clock and they need to watch it.

That being said, I think you can continue with a broken toe. He was standing up as time expired, and his trainers were getting ready to get off the mat. Not to mention he was leading 3-2.

The other guy starts celebrating like he knocked him out, when really he was losing.

By the letter of the law, the ref was right. But I know I would be pissed off too.

But....no matter how ticked I was, I would not have kick the ref in the face.

In contrast, Nigerian Bronze Medalist Chika Chukumerije was a class act throughout. Even bowing to the ref when receiving a deduction point. He was one of the most exciting fighters of the tournament too.

  3. ya the was a bs call

but later on they re-did the bronze medal fight right? (except it Matos was replaced by another guy.. if he didnt kick the ref he probably would of gotten a re-match.)

However, if I was in the same situation as Matos, I would've done the same thing. (Kick the ref).

And then later on right b4 the finals, the judges came in and annouced that they have banned Matos and his coach permanently from all world championships or something -.- how unfair is that? how they have to basically give up taekwondo and do it as a hobby or somethin -.- He should think of appealing that punishment.
