Tag Team Action on RAW: John Morrison and R–Truth vs. Zack Ryder and William Regal
Last Monday Night RAW was a stunner. John Morrison and R–Truth engaged in a heated conflict when John lost a match to million dollar champion Ted DiBiase because of a mistake by R–Truth. Their problem became part of a wider picture in which Nexus gained advantage. Morrison and R–Truth decided that they would keep their differences aside and will work like a team in their upcoming matches. They soon received the opportunity to show their team work to their fans when it was decided that they would face William Regal and Zack Ryder in a tag team match.
William Regal and Zack Ryder have been engaged in a feud with Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov in the past couple of weeks. This was their first chance in months to fight a new tag team with diverse fighting skills and experiences. William Regal who normally leads the tag team has developed a reputation of ruthlessness and aggression. William Regal and Zack Ryder knew that their win could effectively bring them one step closer to facing a unified world tag team champions.
It was William Regal and Zack Ryder who initially entered the arena and waited for their opponents. The crowd in Sacramento, California cheered as John Morrison and R–Truth walked the ramp and entered the ring. It was initially R–Truth and Regal who squared off against each other. Zack Ryder tried to distract R–Truth by entering in the ring. It took a moment as R–Truth went after Ryder and Regal attacked from behind. Regal then illegally took advantage of the top rope and delivered hard kicks to R–Truth’s face. He then tagged in Zack Ryder to bring the fresh wrestler in the ring.
Zack Ryder started his attack by delivering a swinging neck breaker and gave a hard jerk to R–Truth’s neck to slam his back on the ring floor. Zack then tried his luck as he went for the cover. It seemed for a moment that the team of John Morrison and R–Truth had lost the match but R–Truth kicked out before the referee’s final count of three. Then Zack Ryder ran in the ring to kick R–Truth in his face. But R-Truth moved away in time and Ryder banged his body with the turn buckle at the ring corner.
This gave enough time to R–Truth to tag in John Morrison. The crowd stood on its feet as John received the tag and entered the ring to deliver a close line to Zack Ryder. John then delivered a standing drop kick to Ryder and knocked him down. John then went for the cover to finish the match but Regal entered the ring to kick Morrison and break the three counts. R–Truth wasted no time to enter the ring and knocked down William Regal so that he could not disrupt the fight.
John showed some great ring athleticism as he used the leverage of the second rope and kicked Zack Ryder hard in his face. John Morrison took advantage of the situation and executed his wrestling finisher called the Star Ship Pain. During this finisher, John Morrison used the leverage of the top rope of the ring, rolled in the air and landed on the abdomen of his opponent. Morrison did exactly the same and then went for the cover as the referee finished the three count with both of Zack Ryder’s shoulders touching the ring floor.
John Morrison and R–Truth certainly got what they were looking for. They fought as a team and gained the important momentum before their big match at Summer Slam against Nexus. John Morrison and R–Truth will receive huge fame and glory if they repeat the same spectacular performance at the Pay per View.
