Tagalong Jet, 9 to 4 betting favourite, wins the 420m Grade A1 Heat at Peterborough on Jan 11
Another shocking result of greyhound racing hit the headlines, when Tagalong Jet, sealed a surprise win in a Grade A1 Heat of ‘THE KINGS OF PIZZA HUT STAKES’ at Peterborough.
The 420 metre long race took place on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. With the highest starting price of 2 to 1, Killacolla Deco, was the centre of attention, ahead of the contest.
However, he alongside all others was outclassed by Tagalong Jet, the daughter of Royal Impact out of Tag Along Ivy.

The black and white b***h was sent off with the odds of 9 to 4, breaking from the first trap.
Soon after the opening, M F Alden’s trainee gained a decent lead that she maintained till the post and following a superb run, the b***h clocked the distance in 25.83 seconds.
The champion b***h was chased by another female hound, Grogeen Robin – the daughter of Kinloch Brae out of Grogeen Lady.

Although P A Braithwaite’s trainee could not overtake Tagalong Jet, she managed to defeat the rest of the hounds comprehensively.

With a starting price of 7 to 2, the b***h commenced the race from the third stall, and covered the area in 25.90 seconds.
The race proved to be a terrible outing for Killacolla Deco, the black hound with the highest odds of 2 to 1.

The son of Hondo Black out of Killacolla Lady, performed far below expectations, crossing the final point in 26.00 seconds flat. P Ward’s high profile dog started off the sprint from the fifth trap.
Romeo Project, trained by S A Saberton, finished fourth on the chart.

The son of Droopys Marco out of Schofield Damsel, began the sprint with the winning chances of 4 to 1. After stepping out of the sixth trap, he reached the finish line in 26.14 seconds.
The last two places on the table belonged to Grafton Razlor and Glenbank Man, respectively.

H J Dimmock’s trainee, who grabbed the fifth position, finished the proceedings in 26.17 seconds. His odds were 5 to 1, equal to the starting price of the Back Marker, Glenbank Man, who wrapped up the event by covering the distance in 26.60 seconds.
By starting the New Year on the winning note, Tagalong Jet has registered his name as a strong competitor. On the other hand, Killacolla Deco’s trainer will have to work even harder in order to save his dog’s status as one of the favourites.
