Samoa’s winger Sailosi Tagicakibau and Tango’s number eight Chris Hala'ufia have signed a new long-term contract with their current club London Irish.
30 year old Sailosi Tagicakibau has signed a 4 year contract with the club and now he will be part of the London Irish until 2014-15.
On the other hand, 27 year old Chris Hala'ufia has signed a 3 year contract and will play for the London Irish until 2013-14.
Both the players have been playing a major role in the London Irish victories since they joined the club. Tagicakibau, who has had a 6 years long relation with club, has played 102 matches for them and has become the best try-scorer
for the club.
Hala'ufia, who has been playing for London Irish for the last 3 years, has played 61 matches for so far and is considered the most effective ball-carrier.
London Irish head Coach Toby Booth, who was very pleased with the extended contracst, also confirmed the news.
“We are pleased that Tagicakibau & Hala'ufia
have signed long term contracts with us. There is no doubt that these two players have been on the wish lists of many clubs both in the Aviva Premiership Rugby and France.”
Sailosi Tagicakibau spoke to the media after the new contract and said he really likes the environment at the club, which helps a player to perform his best. He further said, that the club was like a family to him and that he has
many good friends there.
On the other hand Chris Hala'ufia, who is really pleased with the new contract also spoke to the media and expressed his views after the new contract. He said that since joining the club he has been playing his best rugby.
Moreover, he said head Coach Toby Booth has really helped him to improve his game and he is happy to be part of a great squad and club.
The London Irish’s performance is going very well in the Aviva Premiership this year. They are currently standing at 2nd position on the points table.
They have won 6 matches out of the 9 matches they played during the season and without a doubt their new contracts with Chris Hala'ufia and Sailosi Tagicakibau will raise their confidence and they will be more comfortable in the
upcoming matches.
