Tahlia Ree, the one to support in Cakes By Moi Fillies´ Handicap at Newmarket
The conditions were a lot different, when Tahlia Ree opened her account at Hamilton earlier this month. Nevertheless, Michael Bell’s filly should not be ignored, as she is not a ground dependent. On good to form at Yarmouth, she was runner-up on her debut
last month.
After a couple of fascinating performances, the 3-year-old is geared up to do wonders in the Cakes By Moi Fillies´ Handicap, being held at Newmarket on Friday, August 17th. The class 3 meeting is due to be kicked off at 20:05 GMT. Eleven runners
are set to show their magic in pursue of a handsome prize worth £7,763.
Tahlia Ree looked quite solid on both occasions. The spectators at Yarmouth saw her progress after a poor start. Although she could not trouble the winners, she did well to ensure the runner-up spot by two and a quarter lengths.
The performance at Hamilton was even better. Under Ian Burns, the 2-1 chance managed to take a handsome lead a furlong before the wire. After getting into command, she kept running well, and bagged the top prize by half a dozen lengths.
A couple of outstanding wins would have taken his confidence to sky, and she has an obvious chance of getting the better of her opponents.
Out of others, Perfect Step looks to the strongest one. The 3-year-old has been performing consistently since the start of this season. After making her seasonal debut on a winning note at Newmarket, the bay filly continued her good work to ensure the runner-up
spot at Royal Ascot in May.
Roger Varian’s charge was third on her latest start at Doncaster. She ran well all the way through, but since luck was not on her side that day, it was not possible for her to trouble the leading pair. Elusive Flame is coming off an excellent win. However,
her inconsistent run is a huge concern for the punters.
According to the calculations, Tahlia Ree seems to be the safest option for betting. However, Perfect Step will not let anyone grab the glory with ease. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
