Tai Tzu Ying overpowers Tine Baun in Women’s Singles first round of 2011 French Open Super Series
Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying delivered stunning performance as she has defeated the higher ranked and Eighth seed Tine Baun of Denmark in the Women’s Singles first round of the 2011 French Open Super Series, at Paris, France, on Wednesday, October 26.
Tzu Ying, who is currently ranked at number 18 in the Women’s Singles word rankings, played terrific badminton against the World Number Eight Baun and won the match after putting up strong show for three games of 50 minutes.
The higher ranked Danish failed to make her mark over the Taipei shuttler and lost the match with a narrow margin in the deciding game.
The Taipei lady played flawless game in the opening set of the match and won it without any problem. However, she lost the second game with a tight margin as she made a few mistakes in the ending points of the set. In the deciding game, Tzu Ying played well
in the end and won the set with a narrow difference.
The Taipei lady played shaky game in the opening set of the match as she made many mistakes in the opening rallies. She failed to focus in the game as her opponent was playing with wonderful variations in her shots. Tzu Ying lost the first set without putting
up strong show with a margin of 15-21.
In the following set, Tzu Ying kept a firm control over the rallies in the opening points and remained close to her challenger. She played fast and aggressive game and remained successful in building up pressure on the higher ranked Danish. In the ending
points of the second game, the wonderful strokes of the Taipei shuttler helped her to win with a margin of 21-19.
The deciding game was absolutely thrilling when both ladies kept on snapping each other’s heel by playing to their full potential. In the concluding phase, it was Tzu Ying who played composed badminton and made no mistake in winning it with a tight difference
of 21-19.
Tzu Ying won the three-set battle by consuming 50 minutes with a 15-21, 21-19 and 21-19 score on the board.
