Tai Tzu Ying overpowers Xue Yao to grab Women’s Singles title at Malaysia Open Super Series
Chinese Taipei’s in-form shuttler Tai Tzu Ying proved her mettle on court and wrapped up Women’s Singles title after defeating China’s Xue Yao in the final battle at Maybank Malaysia Open Super Series 2013 on Sunday, January 20, in Malaysia.
The World Number 12 Tzu Ying, who remained unbeaten throughout the championship, played with tremendous speed in the final encounter and easily thrashed her un-seeded Chinese rival in just 36 minutes.
Taipei shuttler was just uncontrollable for Xue as she played flawless badminton while remaining positive and aggressive in the arena. She easily ended up this Women’s Singles final encounter in straight sets with a one-sided score of 21-17 and 21-14.
Meanwhile, the lower ranked Xue played well in the opening points but failed to put up strong show as the match progressed. She failed to maintain her speed and eventually lost to her Taipei challenger in straight games.
Tzu Ying delivered extremely well from the initial points of first game as she played with amazing speed and took over the control.
The speed of the rallies was very fast in first game and Tzu Ying entertained local fans with her tremendous skills.
It was Tzu Ying who did not show any respect to her aggressive rival in the first part and secured a tremendous lead in the game.
After the one-minute break, Tzu Ying stayed focused on court and remained successful in maintaining a sound difference.
Tzu Ying did not reduce the pace of the game at any stage and easily took the opening game with a staggering 21-17 score on the board.
In the second set, Tzu Ying played with superb speed without leaving any chance for Xue to find a good flow.
The cracking smashes and net killings kept Tzu Ying ahead of her rival all the way until the one-minute break in second game.
Tzu Ying continued putting up sound show in the concluding part of second game and remained successful in winning the set with a sound 21-14 margin on score board.
The in-form Tzu Ying proved that she is no more a second stringer at the world stage. She has become an elite shuttler in Women’s Singles category.
