Question:

Tail Light Bulb in a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier?

My rear brake light and turn signal on the left side of my vehicle isn't working, is this a single bulb, or two? I'm trying to see if I should just try to replace the bulb first, or if its going to be something more.

I don't have the owner's manual (bought second hand) to check the info, and I don't want to start messing with the assembly until I have to.

  1. On your 2005 cavalier there is only one bulb per side for the stop and turn signal. This is a 3057 bulb you can get at any auto parts store.Once to pull the trim from around the back of the tail lamp assy you will see the single bulb in the center of the housing.Turn the socket counterclock wise to remove the socket from the assy.Pull the bulb out and install your new one reinstall the socket and turn clock wise to lock the socket in place.Put your trim back in place and your done. This should take less than five minuites.Best of luck with your cavalier.

  2. remove the light assembly and remove the buld from the lens, you  will need a new bulb, probaaly is a 3157 or 1157 double filament bulb. it's not real tricky, just make sure you don't drop the bolts that hold the light one. good luck.

  3. on the 03-05 cavaliers there is two bulbs on each side of the tail light assembly so try replacing both. there cheap enough anyways. the bulb number are 3057 and the outer is 194.
