Taiwanese student in Seattle needs a visa to visit France?

I've done some research and found out that as a Taiwanese student studying in Seattle, i'll need a visa if i plan to visit my friend in Paris. The problem is that the nearest consulate is in San Francisco.

Is there any way for me to apply for a french visa without heading to San Fran?
