Tajneed likely to prevail in goracing.co.uk Claiming Stakes
Tajneed is likely to win the goracing.co.uk Claiming Stakes at Catterick in England on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. The winning horse will walk away with a cash prize of £1,704 in the end.
Going will be good to soft in the 7 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 15:00 GMT, and a total of 10 runners will be seen in action. Their names are as follows: Tajneed, George Benjamin, No Poppy, Ursula, Shayla, Baybshambles, Thrust Control, Boga,
Penton Hook and Romany Spirit.
The bookmakers have favoured Tajneed for this race, despite the fact that he has not been performing well over the past few months. However, he is an experienced runner and will definitely cause a lot of problems for his rivals. The punters will not be encouraged
to place a lot of bets in his favour, but they might miss an opportunity to win some easy money at the end of the day.
The nine-year-old gelding has taken part in 50 races until now, winning six of them and finishing runner up in eight. In addition to that, he has also secured the third spot on a couple of occasions.
Unfortunately, the David Nicholls’ trained gelding is not in good rhythm at the moment, thus he might struggle at Catterick today. He finished 10th in his most recent race and will need to make a big improvement in order to break the shackles.
Tajneed will be ridden by seasoned jockey, Adrian Nicholls, who has got a very record at this level, winning quite a few races. He has maintained a decent strike rate and will be looking to make a big impression today.
No Poppy, trained by Tim Easterby, will also be a strong contender for victory, as she is a very good runner. She has participated in 27 races until now, winning a couple of them and finishing runner up on nine times. Moreover, she has also taken the third
spot once, which indicates that she is quite capable of fighting for the top positions.
The four-year-old filly will be ridden by Adam Carter, who is looking to earn a name for himself in the sport.
Other than the top two, George Benjamin might also manage to make an impression whereas the rest of the runners will find it hard to fight for victory.
