Take Job A, Job B, or Option C?

3 scenarios:

After college I started in an industry that pays the bills and is more of a job than a career. After working in that industry, and actually getting laid off a week ago, I have opportunities now to get a higher paid position in that industry (JOB A), or travel down the road in a more entry-level position in something I am more interested in - (advertising )(JOB B)....OR travel down the other road and try to get into grad school for advertising (option C)(pretty much guaranteed job after school but initial investment is high)

You could go into A for short time to save up money for C so that you can eventually go into B at a similar pay grade as A.

You should work doing something you love.  Namely B.

Surely there are other factors to consider--are you married?  Thinking of it?  Do you have kids?  How old are you?  Do you have funding to go back to grad school?

I think you'll be happier in something you love to do.  Getting more education to make this job easier to attain, more quickly to climb the rungs, is never wrong.

I've been raised to consider education #1.  If you can get it without making yourself or anyone else uncomfortable, do it.

It is better to be happy and earn less, then be miserable and earn more. I'd go with option B if you are truly interested in that career, or else I'd go with option C...

If you love your work, It won't even seem like work...

A job and a career are not the same thing!

It is a big myth that everyone in life needs a career. Many people are just fine with a job that is not too objectionable and allows them the most free time (which most careers that require ambition and hard work don't allow) to pursue hobbies, have a quality family life, relax, smell the roses. Men especailly have career pressure, but many men I've met have analyzed themselves and realized which is really "them"---a job or a career.
