We had a live draft but I was at work so I missed out. the computer did a decent job I suppose but failed in some areas. At RB they gave me Steven Jackson (on holdout), Darren mcFadden (rookie battling for top spot) and Jonathan Stewart (rookie). In free agency there is:

Edge James, Matt Forte, Julius Jones, Rashard Mendenhall, and Chester taylor. Any worth it?

Next at reciever they gave me Reggie Wayne, Larry Fitzgerald and Cotchery...awesome. But they gave me Javon Walker and Roddy White. I'm about to drop Walker...no faith in him...and I picked up Ted Ginn Jr. In free agency there is:

Sidney Rice, Randle-El, Jerry Porter, Bryant Johnson,

  1. I wouldn't be surprised if both SJ and McFadden have big years (although later in the year)

Stewart is somewhat of a concern, but could surprise

pick up Randle-El too, he's the best out of whose on the bench.

  2. how many teams are in this league? 6 or 8?

i think i'd stand pat on what you have. Walker can sit on your bench until he proves you wrong & if you are right.... so what, use him to pick up a kicker or TE or DEF come bye weeks

  3. I've heard a lot of good things about Rice the only issue is if Jackson can get him the ball. As far as the RBs go James, Forte, and Jones should all start( many people forget the seahawks released shaun alexander early in the off season). If you pick one up I would probably go with Jones as he has a solid O-line in front of him along with Mack Strong. James is also a decent option as he is a proven vet, but considered by many to be on the decline.

  4. If you really have no faith in walker, you can drop him, but I wouldn't. If you do, Randle-El could be big, so you could take a look at him. I would suggest Bryant Johnson since he will get good playing time, but the position that throws him the ball is a complete wreck (This coming from a 49ers fan, too.)

Steven Jackson's hold out will be over before the season starts, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. I would suggest getting Chester Taylor, as I think he will be able to produce as a nice number 2 back for you. Just monitor Shaun Alexander's health. If he goes down again, pick up Julius Jones, as he is capable of breakin a run on any given play.

  5. I absolutely LOVE S.Jackson this year.  You will too.  The only guys in free agency I would consider are Edge and Forte.  Might be a wait and see w/ the guys you've got tho.  At WR I would drop Walker too.  Not sure who I would pick up tho.  Ginn Jr. may struggle in Miami as Pennington has a weak arm and Ginn is mostly a deep threat.  My updates tell me to look at Hagen in Miami - he might lead the team.  good luck.

  6. I would drop Mendenhall and pick up Edge as he always produces solid numbers.  I would start Jackson and McFadden as I think the latter will be a beast.  Stewart should eventually take over as Carolina's feature back, but Edge will be a good fill in as well.  Your team is pretty good, but not exceptional.  Good luck!

  7. If you are going to go into the free agency market, then check out Mendenhall.  He has been getting red zone and goal line touches over Parker.  Forte could be a possibility, but at this point I would hold off on getting him.  Edgerrin James could be productive on an offense that has been on the brink of exploding and he could rekindle his numbers.

Still, SJ and McFadden seem to be pretty solid at this point, but they will be sitting on the bench for Week 5.  Stewart could be expendable for you, but check your BYE weeks before you do.

At WR, you are rock solid.  I would eliminate Walker and keep White.  Ginn Jr should have a breakout year in Miami.  However, make sure you have enough players regarding BYE weeks since Wayne and Ginn will be off at the same time (Week 4).  The same is said for Fitzgerald and White (Week 6).  If you keep Walker, then Cotchery and Walker are riding the pine for Week 5.  Maybe picking up Rice will be a good idea, since he was solid last season (overshadowed by Peterson though) and will look to open up the offense as well.

Look to break the BYE week issue and you should rock your league (unless the rest of your team is utter c**p).
