  1. Some medications need a little fat in the food for optimal absorption. Others will do fine either way but tend to upset the stomach if taken without food. Still others have the absorption limited by food, and should be taken on an empty stomach. There's no general rule, each having to be taken on its own properties.

  2. it makes you real sick to your stomach and or might make you vomit

  3. Some medications are irritating to the stomach.  You need to take them with food to prevent stomach discomfort.

  4. some meds dont have buffer coatings on them and need something as a catalyst in your system

...t all medicines are affected by food, but many medicines can be affected by what you eat and when you eat it. For example, taking some medicines at the same time that you eat may interfere with the way your stomach and intestines absorb the medicine. The food may delay or decrease the absorption of the drug. This is why some medicines should be taken on an empty stomach (1 hour before eating or 2 hours after eating).

On the other hand, some medicines are easier to tolerate when taken with food....

  5. Well I was perscribed Omnicef and I had to take it with food. I didnt take it seriously and I just went ahead and took some and I had major stomach ache, head ache, cramping, and all that good stuff. So I guess its just so that the food can absorb that medicine and pass through quicker.

  6. I think that some need food to digest into, if you were to have an empty stomach then they would just stay there, it needs something to absorb it so that it can travel through your body. =]
