  1. Vista is way better go ahead and buy it  it has more enchanced security features and a better visual apperance in my mind vista is the best ever but be sure to activate it or it will stop working

  2. Don't buy into all the bad things you've heard about Vista, just go ahead and get it.

Vista is almost identical to navigate as XP so there's a very small learning curve, plus Vista has better security features.

All the negative stuff about Vista was born before Service Pack 1 came out, but that's out now and the major issues are fixed, so go ahead and take the leap, it's not nearly as scary as you may think.

  3. well for you to legally do that you would need to buy another license for XP and to do it is not hard as long as you have all the drivers on a disk. you just boot from disk delete all partitions, create a new one and install

  4. Well, it would be kinda easy actually. Use something like ghost and make an image of your xp drive, then go ahead and image your new vista machine. Thats bordering on illigality, but it would work, you will have all of your files, and a bigger drive.

    Good luck!

  5. PC Magazine has done a full review of removing Vista and replacing it with XP. The article is here http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,228...

  6. The process for installing windows is fairly easy.  The key is to First review the hardware make up of the laptop.  Know every piece of hardware and locate the WinXP drivers for each.  Do this before you start the process.

    Then:

Insert the WinXP CD and boot the PC.

The PC should boot up on the CD (if not a bios change is needed).

Follow the instructions to format the HD

    Install WinXP

    Install Hardware Drives

    Install WinXP updates (SP3)

Install you personal files and programs.
