  1. I don't know if it's the same in UK but now we must have a yellow jacket and a red triangle in case of accident.

  2. Well, I am french, I often go to UK by car... no, really nothing really special...

Si, peut être...: be careful in roundabouts. This has been my main difficullty. But the habit comes quickly.

    Also, some pannels in french,

    namely "cédez le passage" (yeld)

And don't forget that you no longer drive on the wrong side...

    but on the right one....!!

Have a good travel and a nice holliday!

  3. The Toll charges on the roads, and you drive on the opposite side of the road than in UK (don`t know where you are from). My partner and I are just back from France. we went from Zebruggee to Montbron (around 750kms) and it cost us 87Euro on toll roads...I believe they can be avoided, but it was a main route and we were not familiar with the other roads...hope this helps....and  1 GBP=0.80euro not a good exchange at moment.

  4. Do you mean on holiday or moving there?

If you are moving you will first need to check with your UK insurance how long they will cover you for.

If you plan on staying permanently you will need to change your registration plates to French ones and pay "vignette" which is French road tax.

Don't worry you won't need to do this immediately, you'll have a few months to sort it out once you are there. Do check with your insurance before you go though - that's the main thing to begin with.
