  1. All the info you need is here

  2. You have to work through the stages. I had to and as I was already very experienced I found Stage One very hard as I knew more than the judges!

I trained myself, you can do that if you are good enough, or you can do it residential I think up to Stage Three takes a year.

  3. You can jump straight to stage 3 if you have an NVQ level 2/3 in horse care. If you only have level 2 NVQ it is probably recommended to go for the stage 2 rather than 3.

You could take stage 4 right now as long as you are over 19 and have PROVEN experience or NVQ level 3.

Personally I think it is easier if you just work your way up, that way at least you are learning the basics correctly, stage 3 and 4 are pretty hard to pass

    Good luck

  4. You can start at stage one, or if you have already done the progressive riding test you can go straight to stage two. The stage one exam is basic care and riding, but they do expect you to do things the way they want. There's a stage one handbook which is kinda helpful. As for training if you ask at your local riding school, they'll propbably try to help you. Good luck.

  5. You do have to start at stage 1 and work upwards.  How fast you do this depends on the school and the training you get, and how hard you work.

Write to the British Horse Society

                       Exams Department

                       National Agricultural Showgrounds

                       Stoneleigh

                        Warwickshire.

They will send you the syllabus for all the exams.

    Gppd luck.

  6. You have to do your stage 1 first and pass and then do the ride and road safety test before you are allowed to do your stage two. then you can do your stage 3 or PTT which ever 1 you want to do first. The ptt is a teaching test and once you pass you are qualified to teach. When you pass your stage 3 and ptt you are a qualified assistant instructor.

For stage 1 2 and 3 there are 2 parts to the exams.

The riding and the horse knowledge and care.

If you want to no more let me no.
