  1. cash is the best and easiest way to handle money, travellers checks and credit cards are not ideal, because the dollar is so bad against the euro at the moment, that you could end up paying more for the same thing the next day if you use a card

for example, at the start of the year the euro was 1.16 to the dollar and nowdays its 1.36 to the dollar.

the best thing do do id try and get your money changed before you leave to get the best rate you can then you wont have to worry

if you are on a pub tour, the last thing you want to do is be carrying a credit card around with you. there have been plenty of incidents of credit card skimming here, and you could also just lose it and then you would wish you had the cash inthe first place

    hope this helped

  2. I took a CIE tour or Ireland last year, not a Pub tour.  I'd suggest you use travelers checks and credit cards, they are the safest if you lose them.  That's what I did, but it's always nice to have a few Dollars on hand, or Euros in this case.  Have fun!!

  3. Whats the best way to handle your money? very carefully around CIE! and dont for a second believe that the "Pub Tour" will be any real reflection of Irish Public Houses.Theres a Pub in Cork City called the "Fob & Gill" That place would give you a fare estimation:0)

  4. Always keep your credit cards and travelers checks away safely in y our bed and breakfast or hotel (depending what city your staying in. If your staying in dublin, make sure that thing is hidden safely! ;D) Remember to get just enough cash for your tour and something to eat and a couple souveneirs from your credit  card before leaving. Keep your cash inside your shoe, sock or shirt pocket and wear a jacket over it! (pickpockets can't go inside your jacket or your shoe, can they? Now, another thing. Make sure you don't  look like a tourist. I know you are going on a tour, but just make sure you look independant and confident. Lastly, NEVER EVER give money to anyone that says they work for the store unless they have already been standing at the coounter. Good luck on your trip, IRelands a lovely place!
