Taking a break in a relationship.....?

1. So, when you're with someone and decide you want a little break from the relationship, would it be ok to date other people and have s*x with them or is that cheating?

2. and when you're back together with the guy/woman who you've taken a break with, would they have the right to ask about what happened during this time and are you entitled to answer or is that none of their business?

Depends...for some people dating while "on a break" is cheating.

Which is why I prefer the term "see other people" because it gets it right in the open. I also think you need to cap this break time to no more than a month. Which means you probably shouldn't be starting a sexual relationship with anyone else. You probably want to get to know them at least a little before swapping body fluids right?

And yes, I do feel it is not entirely out of line for them to ask. I wouldn't stay with a guy who been all over town and expected me to jump right back into bed with him..would you?

1. Yes Dee, it would be fine to date and have s*x with other people. It is not cheating unless you've taken the vow of marriage. The courtship stage is the time in which you make the decision as to whether or not this guy is marriage material.

2. Yes, they have the right to ask anything they want to ask. You on the other hand, have the right to answer it anyway you'd like, or to not answer the question. But when I was younger, and my girlfriends would "take a break" they'd tell me what they'd done while "on break" and it made for some super hot s*x. Live a little. Have fun!

when taking a break you can do what you want, but I caution you to be careful because if you are truly interested in rectifying the relationship than going wild on the break will only make things worse.

They have the right to ask, but it is your prerogative to answer.

Yes, it's fine to have s*x with other people during your break. In fact, if you handle it just right, you could possibly have your cake and eat it too once you're married. Put "Hot Wife". into your Yahoo search engine. After you've been with a few other men, try telling your boyfriend about your sexual escapades while apart from each other. Put your hand on his privates while telling him. You'll be able to gage his willingness to enter into that type of relationship when you get descriptive about other men.
