Taking a check to the post office?

if i take a check i got in the mail to the post office can they tell me if the check is good or not and can they tell me if the check has any funds on it or not

You most likely got one of those Scam check s , No the P.O can not tell you if   there is funds in that account  call the bank the check   is written  from
