The cheaper the better. My husband and I love the ocean. Does anyone know the temperature of the ocean this time of year? We leave Monday April 14th. Thanks.

  1. Well, you might not have enough time to do this, but you can find lots of info about ports of call by going to CruiseCritic.com.  Click on "Boards", then "Ports of Call", then your ports.  There's lots of info from past cruisers about what's great and not-so-great at all the different ports of call.

  2. We had a lot of fun going to Cabo Wabo nightclub. They have a gift shop too, but of course this was during the day as the ship sails away at about 5pm. Oh yea, the water is certainly warm enough to swim in, like around 80 or warmer. Have a wonderful cruise. Can I sneak into your large bag and go too.LOL

  3. PUERTO VALLARTA

Puerto Vallarta is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. It is favored by spring breakers, honeymooners, and the wealthy elite alike. The city of Puerto Vallarta is located on the west coast of Mexico in the state of Jalisco, lying at the foot of the Bay of Banderas on the Pacific Ocean. In addition to being a beautiful and exotic vacation locale, Puerto Vallarta is also a seaport, where cruise ships and U.S. Navy ships dock, and where the Mexican Navy maintains a port.

There is something for everyone to experience in Puerto Vallarta! Activities abound there, especially for the outdoor adventure lover. There is hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking through the Sierra Madre Mountains; get a bird’s eye view of Puerto Vallarta on a hot air balloon ride; explore the archaeological ruins at Ixtapa. For the water-lover, there is diving, snorkeling, and world-class sport fishing in the bay. And you might also catch a glimpse of the humpback whales, dolphins, and giant rays traversing the waters throughout the year.

A combination of picturesque mountain landscapes, breathtaking seascapes, white sandy beaches, lush jungle interiors, and cobblestone streets along whitewashed architecture exuding colonial Mexican charm, Puerto Vallarta is a tropical paradise paralleled by little else anywhere on the planet. The world-renowned charisma and friendliness of the Mexican people, as well as the multitude of amenities and activities, make Puerto Vallarta easily one of the most enjoyable places to travel to, and is guaranteed to satisfy even the most finicky travelers

    MAZATLAN

At first glance this might appear to be a working-class port city with a very touristy Golden Zone (Zona Dorado) serving up Diamonds International and souvenir shops, beaches, bars and eateries. But take a closer look, particularly at Old Mazatlan, and you'll be surprised.

We certainly were. This was our favorite port call on the Mexican Riviera itinerary, a nice sample of the "real Mexico." Located on Mexico's Pacific Coast, just below the Tropic of Cancer, Mazatlan (the name means "land of deer" in the ancient Nahuatl language) has a population of 600,000 and a history that includes pirates, who probably stashed their booty here to hide it from Spanish galleons. Spanish explorers used the port in the 1600s. German immigrants put the place on the map in the 1800s as they developed the city as a port for shipping cargo, and Mazatlan continues to be one of Mexico's major cargo ports (exports include some 40 million pounds of shrimp per year).

The city was incorporated in 1806. Riches came thanks to a silver and gold rush (the ores were discovered in the Sierra Madre outside of town). Mazatlan has been a tourist destination since the 1960s, thanks mostly to an abundance of trophy fish and to its beaches, which attracted first spring breakers and later a more diverse vacation crowd. From the city stretching north are 14 miles of white sand beaches and blue lagoons that have gained the city the nickname "Pearl of the Pacific

    CABO SAN LUCAS

Every year thousands flock to Cabo San Lucas and the Baja Peninsula to enjoy both its natural beauty and its great offering of sun, surf, activities and nightlife. Whether you prefer fishing, golfing, diving, kayaking, shopping or just lying on a gorgeous beach, you will find it all in Los Cabos! There are also many tours to enjoy.

In the 20-mile oceanfront Tourist Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, Los Cabos has found new fame for its oceanfront championship golf courses. Designed by some of the biggest names in golf, they wind through the Corridor with dramatic views of the shimmering sea.

Los Cabos is well known for its many elegant resorts and fine restaurants. For people seeking action and excitement, resort vacations are a whirlwind of social interaction for all ages.

    WATER TEMPATURE

Will vary from 65 to 75 in all these destinations

    Happy travels

  4. go para sailing in Cabo..rent a golf cart in Mazatlan for the day if you want to really see the city, great fun but you need to be adventures to do it.

  5. I was in Cabo last May. It was Very warm, about 95 F degrees and humid. The sun was very bright also. It's about 90 F right now.

Everyone from the ship seemed to wind up at Sammy's place, the Cabo Wabo Cantina. Alot of the guys went fishing during the day, but that isn't cheap really. There are beautiful beaches and streets to roam. It was very safe but not really very cheap money wise. 3 of us spent $220 at Sammy's in just 3-4 hours. The food is great, so are the drinks, but the prices are like here in so calif. Not really a bargain.
