  1. Not sure how to have a bad cruise.  So no worries.

That is hurricane season, so just watch the weather.

The cruise line will know how to stay away from the worst of it.

Big expensive ship and all, not wanting to hurt passengers or crew.

Not sure what else to answer.

If you are inclined to get car sick or sea sick, take 1/2 Bonine tablet a day for the 1st 3 days.  Increase or decrease as needed, do not wait to feel bad before taking, too late then.

Dramamine is too strong, unless you want a sleep a lot.

This site gives a graphical representation of the wave height.

Under 2 meters, you cannot even feel it.

4 meters or more Whoo hoo!

Was on one ship, 13 ft swells, 30 ft apart.  Everybody had trouble walking.  Great fun for those who do not get sea sick.  Not so much for everyone else.

  2. Cruising in January in the Caribbean is great.  I did a cruise on January 30 to the Eastern Caribbean and the weather was perfect, especially after we got to the Bahamas.  On that cruise I did not get in the water but on the cruise we did last December to the western Caribbean I did get in the water in Grand Cayman and in Haite.  Our cruise stopped also in Jamaica and Cozumel and it was hot in both places in Mid December.  The waters were very calm and there were sunny skies with a few scattered showers.

The part of the year when you really have to watch Caribbean weather is the hurricane season which runs June through the end of the October.
