Taking a good picture of yourself?

i thought i'd re ask this question, since i didn't get many answers before.

i want to take a good picture of myself, i want to look reasonably cute and s**y, but not over the top. i have a webcam, which generally isn't as good as a didgi, but it works wonders for me, it's got an amazingly clear picture and good effects come with it. i don't want no silly poses like peace signs, pouts, you know? but i want to look good. What make up stands out when taking pictures? What poses should I do? The webcam has a self timer on it. I'd really appreciate if you'd answer & help? :) x

Thanks for the person who answered my previous question about this, 10 points coming your way! :) LOl

  1. I don't really like camwhoring, but I know what you mean when you say you want to take a good photo. I really want to do something nice too!

I find bathroom lighting to be pretty good when taking photos, but that's about all I can come up with. Good luck anyway!

  2. I take photos of myself all of the time. I don't pose or practice for them, i just be original, and natural, when you act/pose, it tends to look fake, and non-original. Just be yourself, and act natural. Just looks into the camera, smile is you'd like, remain in the center of the frame, and hit the shutter button ( or wait for the self timer to expire ) You don't have to act to look nice in a picture, just be natural, and you should get some nice photos.

It doesn't matter that you're using a webcam, you should still be able to get some nice photos. As i said, just be original, and relaxed.

  3. pose like a celeb...turn your head over one shoulder and look back @ camera...pose w/ hands on hips and cross the opposite foot over the other...celebs pay ppl to teach them these poses

  4. Practice makes perfect when taking self portraits.  One thing I don't like to see, is someone's bedroom in the background.  Keep the background clean and make sure you are focus of the shot. I don't know how the web cam works, but with digi, as you know, you can immediately tell if you like the shot.  That is a real advantage.  I have done lots of self portraits to use in my art when no model is available.  This may sound silly at first, but costumes/props sometimes really work well in self photos, too. When you come up with something be sure and post it so we can see. Good Luck.
