I was recently hired for a position I applied for, but I was also accepted at a college I applied to. I really want to earn money, but I'm tired of working the same job for about 12 years, I'm really good at it but I eventually want to earn more money. The thing is I'm older and I have yet to get my first degree. I've always taken classes but never completed because I've always worked overtime alot. but now I want to focus all my attention on school and get my bachelors, and eventually my masters. This is my dilema because I also have a child to take care of, what do I do?

  1. You may have to do it the way many of us do,  that is part time at night and on saturdays,   i got my BA  and my Masters that way,   I even had to take my kid to class sometimes when i could not get a sitter.   she was familiar with campus and thought college was just what everybody did,   so  now that said,  i hope that you do continue,  at least if you take one class it is better than none, but you must make it a priority

you can not just say , well i will work tonight,   no if you have to say no to the overtime then do it,    and you have to study when you can find the time, you have to sneak it in there,   never let the grades suffer

remember that it is all a matter of planning,  I studied while my girl was in dance class, karate class,  i had a book, and if i was stuck at the doctors office,  or in a traffic jam i was studying,   so take advantage of every minute you have,

    good luck  ;p)

  2. I agree with the others, maybe taking courses at night and/or on Saturdays.  There are also some programs that you can complete online.  You should definitely check on the online, night, and weekend courses.

  3. nightschool
