Taking a picture of lighting?

its storming outside and i want to take a picture of the lighting. will i get electorcuted? i was gonna stay inside while taking the picture. i dont know why i want to take the picture; i just think itll be a cool picture but i wanna make sure its safe first

  1. for the most part it's safe. but if you hair stands up, run for your life

    take a video shot, then after the storm, go on your computer and get screen shots of the individual strokes. that way you have as many chances as you want instead of just one

    then email me the pics cause i want to see too

  3. Seems like it would be really, really hard to take a picture of lightning. As stated in by Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, "It is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden; too like the lightning, which doth cease to be ere one can say 'It lightens.' Sweet, good night!" (II.ii.129-131).

    P.S. The most lightning strikes on people occur in Florida, and the second most in Colorado, but the Colorado ones are more severe (I live in CO).

  4. Taking the picture will not get you electrocuted.  Of course if you get struck by lightning the camera is not going to help or hurt you.  Hope you get some good shots.  Wildest lightning I ever saw was in Florida.  I've heard as you get closer to the equator lightning increases in intensity.
