  1. Get a head start in what time remains of your summer vacation.  Brush up on algebra.

Study every day even if you are sure you do not need to.

Always work a sample homework problem before leaving school to see if  you remember how do do what you are supposed to do.If not, see a friend or teacher before leaving campus.

    Get a regular study-mate.

Admit you are lost or behind as soon as it happens and catch up immediately.  This may be the hardest piece of advice to use.  A friend of mine saw the first week of physics as easy and clear but by the end of the 2 week he realized he was 3 months behind.

  2. Lately, I've been asking myself the same question. I'm taking AP Physics B next year as well.

I am in luck, however, because I am taking Algebra 2 over the summer. Therefore, the Algebra won't be forgotten when school starts. I would say, that in order to be successful you should review some of your Algebra 2 concepts. Mainly the topics introduced in AP Physics use Algebra, Geometry, as well as trigonometry. Review trigonometry as well as trigonometric functions. For my AP Physics class, we have summer homework. I think that this will help me be better prepared for the class... I have never taken a physics class before.

Other than that, I suggest that you focus in class. Take notes when lectures are being given. If you have any questions immediately seek help to clear up any confusion. I've heard that the math isn't that hard, it's just the confusing concepts. I also suggest that you review the homework while at school. If you don't know how to do it, ask your teacher about the specific problem. Do lots of practice problems at home, repetition and practice are key to success. Study and do all of your homework.

Don't worry, you'll do very well in this class.

    Good luck!
