Taking birth control?

so are you not supposed to take the birth control pill during your period?

If you are on a normal pill not like the ones where you only get a period 3 times a year then no you don't have to there are pills in the pack that you can take but just to keep you on track. but you don't have to take them they are just sugar pills your dr. should have went over this with you but that is how most of them work

WHY doesn't ANYONE READ THE PAMPHLET THAT COMES WITH THEIR PILLS????
