  1. i own a pool company and all you need is chlorine witch is shock and soda ash and muratic acid. for a  above ground pool i suggest liquid chlorine  use about two gallons a week chlorine level should stay at 3.0 ph should stay between 7.2 to 7.6 if you need any more info email me at jldailey2999@yahoo.com

  2. oh my god, that could take pages to answer!

Go to a pool store, and ask them;  that's what they're there for (and to sell you chemicals, but they'll tell you for free)

  3. I can tell you after a heavy rain you will need PH+, also you will need this if your pool starts to turn green.  Keeping the PH up is key.  It will keep the chlorine from being dissolved right up.  Before we used PH we went thru so much cl it was crazy, but now we hardly use a 25 pounds a summer.  Also you will have to shock the pool.  But those are all the chemicals we use and we have had our pool for over three years.  Good luck.
