I found a lizard in my house about an hour ago. I was going to release the little guy but one of its front fingers looks like it was ripped off and there is dried blood. I'm not much of a reptile person but I dont want it to die. I don't know the first thing about reptile care, can anyone tell me how I can keep it alive?

  1. As long as the bleeding has stopped, let him go.  Keeping him is just gonna stress him out and if he's injured, that's more of a stress.  They know how to take care of themselves when they're hurt.  He'll be fine.

  2. Let him go. He will be so stressed from being captive, that he will die. If he is no longer bleeding, he will survive. It is amazing, how they can recover. But his chances are much better on his own.  Bless you for taking him in and caring!!!!     He will survive now on his own.

  3. If it wasn't a toe I would tell you to contact someone, but this type of injury usually doesn't even slow a lizard down.  I would just release him in your backyard since you found him in your house. He'll be fine.
