Question:

Taking care of retro consoles?

Hi, I am currently doing a collection of retro ( and newer) consoles. I only managed to find a brand new factory-sealed Game Boy Pocket so far.

The problem is, wear and tear. The systems will be used from time to time, but will be kept wrapped in plastic in their original box when not being played. I try to use them as lightly as possible and wash my hands before to keep dirt from gathering on the controls.

However consoles such as the NES and N64 will be placed on a shelf near my TV.

What i'm trying to ask here is, how do I keep them from having problems?
