Taking electronic devices like PC over seas?

does anyone know if there are some kind of law

about takind devices like pc over seas...

is there a risk of enyone taking it from me?

i know its an akward question but this is the only place that came to mind to get a answer

  1. For most devices, typically no. The restrictions usually are applied to devices that transmit an RF signal (Cell phones, walkie-talkies, wireless phones, baby monitors, etc...) The restrictions on these devices are because of the frequency that they use. Most countries have an authorized bandwidth for various devices, but they aren't always the same from one country to another. Handheld radios may operate at 2.4 GHz in one country, but at 5.5 GHz in the next. The reason for this is to keep spurious transmissions out of, for example, police frequencies, or air traffic radar frequencies.

    I think you are referring to your gear being taken by customs, if it is not allowed. I've never seen that happen in Europe, they simply tell you that you can't use it, if it is not allowed.

    Overall, I've never seen a country that won't let you have a PC, so I'd say you're pretty safe taking a laptop on your travels.
