  1. My father-in-law is a mechanic and often gets grease on his garage clothes.. So, my mother-in-law uses a product called LESTOIL in her wash loads....It's available in the cleaning/laundry aisle.  It smells yucky but it works really well.... I've used it on my husbands greasy work clothes along with a cup of baking soda and it's worked GREAT!

    Good luck

  2. Lestoil works great on grease.

  3. I'm with pebblespro, Lestoil is really cool stuff.  It's also good for removing soap scum from bathtubs and grease from stoves and range hoods.  The only place I've ever been able to find it is at Ace Hardware Stores.

  4.    1. If the stain is old and has set, moisten it back up with a squirt of WD-40.

       2. If the stain is fresh and there is a lot of grease or butter in the material, cover the area with a dry, absorbent material like cornmeal or cooking flour and gently rub it over the grease stain so it absorbs as much as possible from the fabric.

       3. Apply a grease solvent directly to the stain. The solvent you choose for this step should be dependant on the size of the stain and the material that you’re working with. Be careful not to destroy your fabric. Most laundry spot-treatment solutions contain grease solvents and are generally the safest way to go (follow the instructions on the bottle), but if you need something stronger you can also use industrial strength solvents such as goop or automotive grade hand cleaners (apply directly to the stain and gently work it in and let it sit).

       4. If the stained fabric is a piece of clothing, run it through a wash cycle. If it’s furniture then you can either clean the area using an upholstery shampooer or blot it dry with towels and re-clean with a spot cleaner.

  5. I work with small farm machinery - I use a product called Fulsol. I put it on the grease stain and let it sit for a day or two before putting it in the wash. Giving it time is what allows the Fulsol to eat away at the grease.

    Hope that helps!
