Taking hair straighteners on holiday, would they work?

Question

I'm going on holiday to Tunisia in July and I'd like to take my hair straighteners with me.

Just wondering, what is the voltage over in Tunisia as my hair straighteners are of 220-240V-50/60Hz (that's what they say on them)..?

I would of ofcourse take an adaptor with me to be able to use the correct type of plug etc, but if the voltage of my hair straighteners are too high, then would it be even worth me taking them, as i doubt they'd work very well and so only take up space which i could use.

The voltage in Tunisia is 230V with a Frequency of 50Hz

so it should work just bring your adapter,,.........where you going in july what part.......i was thinking the same as you with the hair straightner would be lost with out this ......found the answer and posted it here.......im also going in july......really looking forward....

Your voltage for your hair straightener will be fine.

If you are visiting a coastal resort, the humidity will be very high. Because of that, I do not know if it will be worth it to you to bring your straightener.

If you choose not to bring your straightener, you can always go to a hairdresser before going out for the night. To style your hair the hairdresser will charge between 2-4TND  which is very cheap.

I took my hair straigthener this winter and it worked just fine. by the way getting your blow dry done at the hairdresser is super cheap in tunisia. i usually cant afford to get it done all the time here in the usa but I went like 10 times to the hairdresser in tunisia. they usually charge like  3 to 8 dinars for blow driedhair.Unless you go to a big fashionable hair cut place
