Taking medicine together..reaction..need help????

ok im taking iron pills and prilosec otc and on my pill bottle it says not to take these at the same time and i didnt at the same time but i think i took them about an hour apart ..sad thing is i cant remember..im usually more responsible than this but this morning i just totally spaced it..anyway im kinda scared now cuz im kinda sick at my stomach and a lil dizzy. does anyone know what will happen if they are takin too close together??

The reason they advise not taking the two together is because Omeprazole (Prilosec) will hinder the absorption of iron and many other substances into your bloodstream.

Your stomach is probably upset simply because iron can do that to you.

There are websites where you can look up drug interactions by typing in two seperate drugs. I would probably call a pharmacist, as they will be able to give you a detailed explanation of any possible problems from interactions. Good luck!
