Question:

Taking money out abroad with Nationwide?

I've got a job in France for about five months (possibly six). I know that Nationwide is the only bank in the UK that doesn't charge you for taking money out abroad, but my friend told me that the reason for this is that they give you really bad exchange rates, so in fact it's best to use some other bank and just take all you need out in one go.

Is this true?

Is there any way I can find out?

  1. use your nationwide card, or Liverpool Victoria. if you put your borrowing criteria into moneysavingsupermarket it will recommend the best card for you.

  2. Phone there call centre 0800 30 20 10

you will only be charged the rate that is applicable that day
