We haven't taken them to the beach before so any help out there? I'm just wanting to know anything I should bring them other than snacks, sunscreen, water...the usual.

  1. All of the things you said, and then get them a little sun tent. That way when they get too hot, or get too much sun, they can just chill in there. Also, when it's time for a nap, they can sleep in it. Bring a blanket or towel to put in it. Also remember hats. Their little heads get burned so easily. If they have water shoes, bring those too. I've notice with my little one (who's 2) that if she doesn't wear water shoes in the ocean, her little feet start to hurt. I also like to bring toys, so that they don't get bored. If your two year old is still in diapers, bring an extra towel or changing mat so you can change them without getting sand down there. Have fun!

  2. I would bring for them 2 pails,(to make sand castles with),of course a2 shovels(plastic), but I think the most important thing you could take with you are:YOU,AND THEM, and FUN, it really doesn't matter exactly what you all do, just have fun!Mom be a kid all over again!HAVE FUN, AND TAKE LOTS,LOTS, OF PICTURES!Better take a camera too, lots of film!

  3. Any meds they might need, little sunglasses, or hats, an umbrella......

A change of clothes and of course extra towels.

A pail and shovel! A Beach ball.

If you stay past 5:30 bring a little sweatshirt or heavy top to keep them warm, because winds start up and the tide.............

  4. Something for shade.

  5. This may sound silly, but consider one of those baby leashes and floaties.

P.S.- Put the sunscreen on before you get there.

  6. I always use sunscreen and I put life vest on my 3 year old.

I also supply lots of water, no juices or sodas that can dehydrate them...

Play toys to make castles and go look fro sea shells and rocks....

  7. Extra towels. Leave them in the car. You will probably get yours all sandy and a clean towel is nice to have.

    Sunscreen.

Toys (sand toys, floaties, rafts, goggles....)

    Food/drinks.

Bucket if you plan on collecting shells...

  8. Sand toys and swim diapers.  Pool shoes for walking across hot sand and hard shells.  Try to discuss waves and currents with them and explain it's not like the pool.  The biggest issue we run into when we take our four kids ages four and under to the beach is that they want to run in without holding onto an adult.  Little ones like that will be knocked over and have theirs mouths and noses filled with water if they try to do it alone.  Good luck, we go a couple times a year and they still fight us on that one :)
