Well, I start school again next Wednesday. I asked a question last week, maybe, and someone suggested take her in for a couple hours to get her used to it again. So, I have decided I will give this a try. I am taking her to daycare tomorrow... and I am so sad that I will be babyless after 3 months! But, I think it is good for both of us to be away from each other for a couple hours so we can get used to it. Anyways, my question is. Exactly how long do I keep her there? I know I don't want her there the whole day, but am unsure of how long to keep her there.

Has anyone else done this before? What were your experiences? As in doing this before I mean: Having your child go to daycare for months, take them out for 3 months over the summer, then taking them back a couple months later.

I just need a peace of mind that she will be ok. She will probably do better than me!

BTW she is 13 months old.

  1. It really depends on your daughters personality. I have one that just wanted to play with all the new toys and never looked back. My other daughter took a few weeks to get back into the routine. I just made sure they had their bag from home and a special toy in it. (The teachers said they used it at nap time) I even stopped in every few hours to check on them. (They didn't see me) Every visit they were happily playing.

I ended up leaving both for the full day because when I stopped in for my surprise visits they were happy and playing. Once again, I didn't let them see me.

They have so much to do...music, arts/crafts, large muscle, and outdoor time. They just loved it!

I wish I could have adjusted as easily:)

    Good Luck!

  2. I would take her in the normal time you will drop off...like 7ish or whatever...

    Then pick up by 11.

She will have a feeding (or two)?

    Play, diaper changes, and home...

    Plenty of time.

**I say normal time, just so she has a feel (as do you), the number of kids there at drop off time....and it will help you to plan out your morning...make it a "trial run".
