  1. I agree with cutemarci24. I had to drive 2.5 hours when I picked my kitty up from the breeder. She didn't want to do anything except get out, meow, and occasionally sleep. I had a few toys and food in the carrier, but she didn't want anything to do with it. She was fine without a litterbox. I would see if you could persuade your kitty to go to the box before you leave. And I recommend bringing some good music because meowing gets annoying after about 10 minutes.

  2. the litter box isn't as important as food or water i think take a carrier so it wont disturb you while you drive (it could happen)

  3. I had to drive twelve hours with two bratty cats- here's what I did. I bought the "feliway" spray. It's for any situation that may be stressful to a cat (boarding, traveling, moving to a new house). You just spray it in their carrier 20 minutes before you put them in it. It worked WONDERS for me, so I'm spreading the word! Two hours isn't a terribly long time, so don't stress. It could be twenty minutes or two hours- it all seems the same to the cat. I know we all have a tendency to baby our animals, but cats are alot tougher than we give them credit for. In some states it's illegal for a cat to be out of it's carrier while a vehicle is moving, so why take the risk? It's not good for you, and the cat could get hurt. He's is going to be fine. I worried so much about my 2 when I was moving but they were perfectly fine, no worries. Just put his carrier in the back seat, strap it in with the seat belt to prevent sliding, roll the back windows down about 2-3 inches for an adequate cross- breeze, and all will be fine. And I did put a small litter box in his carrier

  4. I use a carrier large enough to hold a small litter tray and a soft towel for the cat to lie on.  Unless he rides really well out of the carrier and you have someone to hold him, I'd leave him in the carrier.  Most carriers come with a double cup for a little food and water.  Don't over-do the food, just enough for a treat.  I generally tossed a toy in with the cat, unless it was one of the rowdier ones.  Good luck.  purrs

  5. WHEN I TOOK MY DOG ON A TRIP I TOOK WHATEVER HE WAS GOING TO NEED(DEPENDS ON HOW LONG YOU ARE STAYING THERE)WATER BOWLS,FOOD,EVERYTHING(INCLUDING CARRIERS).AND WHEN IT CAME TO THE RIDE ALL I DID WAS LAY A PILLOW ON THE SEAT NEAR THE WINDOW.PUT HIS FOOD BOWLS AND WATER BOWL ON THE FLOOR.ON 1 SIDE AND A PUPPY PAD ON THE OTHER SIDE(THIS IS FOR IF THEY HAVE TO USE THE BATHROOM).AND THE WHOLE TIME DURING THE RIDE HE WAS GOOD.

  6. Mostly, make sure to take food and water.

The litter box isn't too important, but if you don't want kitty **** in your, you should take a small one and put it in the back of your car.

Also, be prepared for lots and lots of meowing.

    Good luck!

  7. A carrier would be fine for a twenty minute drive. But two and a half hours.. your kitten would probably get bored and maybe scared? I would keep it in the carrier for a little and than once in a while take it out and play! (Unless you are the one driving (: But make sure you have plenty of food and water for the little guy. And maybe a small version of a litter box. So sorry if this doesn't work out. After all I've never done this with my cats. If this was a waste of your time.. I apologize. Take care! Much luck.

  8. You do not mention if you are going on a 2 hr. trip for fun or are you staying a couple of days. You also do not mention how old the cat is.  It is not a wise idea to permit your cat to be in a car with-out it being in a carrier,  I usually put a towel on the bottom of the carrier, put some of my cats favorite toys into the carrier and off I go. It stays in the carrier the whole trip, unless I stop for a break my self, the I will open the carrier door and see if the cat comes out, let her move around the car for awhile-make sure the windows are up. You can always use Feline spray on the towel in the carrier, it can be bought at a store and it will calm your cat down, it does not hurt your cat. It is also a good idea to put a towel or small blanket over the carrier while in the car, good luck.

  9. I took my 2 cats on a 4 hour long drive and they did fine, just in case, i put the litter box behind the passenger seat and the food bowl in front. they usually like to hide under the seat cuz i guess theyre scare of the vibration and the movement. also to prevent them from peeing in the car (again), i only gave them a little water that morning. 2 hours doesnt seem that long, and if your traveling with someone, have them give the cat some attention since you have to focus on the road.

  10. Hun, listen to this, when cats are scared, anxious and uncertain of what is going on they simply don't poo, pee, eat or drink. You can take food, water, whatever you want and I guarantee you he wont want it. I am always traveling with Abby. What I do is I choose a time in the day when he usually gets very sleepy and quiet: Afternoon. I pick him up, put him in his carrier, place the carrier in the back seat and off we go. He meows a couple of times because, obviously, he wants to know what is going on. I talk to him to make him feel comfy, play some good ol' ballad on the radio (not loud) and next thing I know, kitty is asleep. I'm not saying your cat will sleep for 2 hrs but if he does wake up he wont say anything unless this is his first experience. But really, cats as it is are very nervous creatures, always wanting to know what happens in their surroundings.

Take him in the carrier the whole way, you'll be protecting him this way. In case of an accident (God Forbids) kitty will be inside of a carrier, not wondering around in the car where he might accidentally hurt himself in case you have to push on the brakes all of a sudden. I travel with my cat at least 3 times in a month. I know what I'm telling you hun. Take care.

  11. I would take him on about a 30 minute ride first. Increase it to one hour and if he seems to ride without getting car sick just take a couple of hand towels with you and put one in a medium pet taxi. Give him a toy and have ample food and water to offer him and he should be fine on your trip.
