Taking my temperature from my underarm...?

I am sick and I just ate recently so if I took my temperature it would not be accurate, so I need to take my temperature from my underarm. My mom used to tell me that you either or - 1 degree but I forgot witch one it is and I can't get a hold of her. Does anybody know what you do? Thanks for the help! :)

add 1 degr ee when taking temp in arm pit or wait about 15 minutes and redo it orally
